Food Product Transportation Checklist
One of the biggest challenges while transporting food products is keeping them out of the food safety danger zone. From equipment failures to human errors in the loading process, it’s easy to increase health risks during this stage of your supply chain.
Prevent biological hazards by using this simple checklist to audit your transportation process. It covers two main areas:
Standard work procedures: The safety measures that workers use to prevent contamination
Transportation equipment: The safety of vehicles, thermometers, and other equipment
These are two of the easiest variables to control so you can protect your products from spoiling during transit. You should also perform regular inspections of all transport equipment like vehicles, dollies, straps, and ramps. This will make the food transportation process safer for your workers, not just the products they load and unload.
