PIT Inspection Checklist
Workers need to fill out a PIT inspection checklist before they operate heavy machinery. This ensures that they’re thinking about safety even before they start driving. It can also help you avoid costly repairs by encouraging preventative maintenance.
Rather than waiting until the truck suffers a major shutdown, a proactive checklist draws attention to issues that might grow over time. But more importantly than the cost savings is the benefit of keeping workers off defective PIT. This will reduce the likelihood of incidents and near misses, saving your EHS team time and your company money related to compliance reporting, workers’ compensation, and more.
Frontline’s checklist has workers review their equipment first, and then it asks them a few questions about their ability to drive the PIT. You can download the free checklist and customize it for the specific type of PIT that your workers use. That way, you get the most out of your PIT inspections and have a checklist for each different kind of equipment in your facility.
