Gemba Walk Checklist

The biggest advantage of a gemba walk is that it allows you to find problems that you might not be able to see from your performance analytics. Getting out to see the process with your own eyes is essential to meaningful EHS improvements and initiatives.

This gemba walk checklist covers four main areas of the operation that you should focus on:

• Process
• Equipment
• Safety
• Quality

For each category, we’ve listed a few starter questions that you might want to answer during your walk. Underneath each section, there is an area to jot down notes on areas of improvement. Make sure to make these notes throughout your gemba walk so that you can refer to them once you’re no longer walking about the operation.
