PSM Mechanical Integrity Form
Under OSHA standard 1910.119, businesses must ensure the mechanical integrity of the following equipment:
- Pressure vessels
- Storage tanks
- Piping systems
- Relief and vent systems/devices
- Emergency shutdown systems
- Control systems (monitoring devices, sensors, alarms, interlocks)
- Pumps
The mechanical integrity requirements include proper inspection and testing of equipment, training standards, written documentation (including inspection reports), and repair.
This form serves as a quick list of all these requirements that you can use to make sure your site complies. If you answer any of the questions on this form with a “no,” you’ll need to revise your mechanical integrity protocols until you can answer “yes.”
