The webinar is hosted by Ren Lu You, CEO of Frontline Data Solutions, and features guest speakers Ryan Campbell and Hunter Hawa of Safety First Group (SFG).
Throughout the webinar, they discuss the traditional approach to contractor management, why it doesn’t work, and how to solve it.
The current approach
In the first half of the webinar, Ren, Ryan, and Hunter talk about existing models for managing contractors. They touch on the two primary approaches: onsite and offsite training.
Then, the speakers talk about the pitfalls of both outsourcing training and doing it in-house:
- Need for site-specific hazard communication
- Lack of scalability
- Difficulty with ID verification
- Documenting training completion
After giving an overview of the current approach to contractor management, Ren, Ryan, and Hunter move on to the solution, a joint software venture called “Frontline CSM.”
The Frontline CSM solution
In the second half of the webinar, the group discusses Frontline Contractor Safety Management (CSM) and how it solves these issues. Ryan and Hunter explain how the mobile app makes it easier for contract workers to check into a new worksite.
They also describe how the software system makes it easier for businesses to update contractors on new hazards. By doing this, CSM creates a safer environment for both the contractors and full-time employees.
At the end of the webinar, Ryan and Hunter list out some tips for companies who want to improve their contractor management approach. Their advice applies to large and small companies alike, regardless of whether they’re ready to switch to a digital management system.
